Reader 1: In the light of the moon a little egg lay on a leaf.
Reader 2: One Sunday morning the warm sun cam up…
Reader 1: and POP, out of the egg came a tiny, very hungry caterpillar.
Reader 2: He started looking for some food.
Reader 1: On Monday he ate through one apple. But he was still hungry.
Reader 2: On Tuesday he ate through two pears, but he was still hungry.
Reader 1: On Wednesday he ate through three plums, but he was still hungry.
Reader 2: On Thursday he ate through four strawberries, but he was still
hungry.
Reader 1: On Friday he ate through five oranges, but he was still hungry.
Reader 2: On Saturday he ate through one piece of chocolate cake,
Reader 1. One ice-cream cone,
Reader 2: One pickle,
Reader 1: One slice of Swiss cheese,The Very, One slice of salami, One lollipop,
Reader 2: One piece of cherry pie, One sausage, One cupcake,
Reader 1: And one slice of watermelon.
Reader 2: That night he had a stomach ache!
Reader 1: The next day was Sunday again.
Reader 2: The caterpillar ate through one nice leaf, and after that he felt
better.
Reader 1: Now he wasn’t hungry anymore
Reader 2: He was a big fat caterpillar.
Reader 1: He built a small house,
Reader 2: Called a cocoon,
Reader 1: Around himself.
Reader 2: He stayed inside for more than two weeks.
Reader 1: Then he nibbled a hole in the cocoon, pushed his way out and…
Reader 2: He became a beautiful butterfly!

- Scene 1
(Bára, Tereza, and Nicol walk into the meadow.)
Bára: Wow! What a beautiful meadow!
Tereza: Yes! And today we will find The Beatles!
( everyone talks about favourite member of the Beatles)
The Beatles were one of the most famous music groups in the world. The band came from Liverpool and had four members:
- John Lennon – Nicol song “ Imagine“
- Paul McCartney- Terka song “ Hey Jude“
- George Harrison- Bolek song “ Here comes the sun“
- Ringo Starr- Bára
Nicol: I love their songs! “Hey Jude” is my favorite!
Bára: Maybe they are here, playing music.
(They look around.)
Tereza: Look! Something is moving in the grass!
Nicol: Is it John Lennon?!
(Nicol picks up a small beetle.)
Nicol: Oh… no. It is just a beetle.
Bára: Haha! Not BeatleS. A beetle!
(They continue searching.)
Tereza: Maybe Paul McCartney is behind that tree!
(Bára looks behind the tree.)
Bára: Nope. Only two beetles eating a leaf.
Nicol: Excuse me, little beetles. Can you sing?
(She puts the beetle near her ear.)
Nicol: Hmm… no music.
Tereza: Maybe they know “Let It Be”!
(Suddenly Nicol gets excited.)
Nicol: WAIT! I found four Beatles!
Bára: Really?!
(Everyone runs to Nicol.)
Nicol: One… two… three… four…
(They look down. Four small beetles crawl on the ground.)
Tereza: Nicol… these are normal beetles.
Nicol: Oh.
(Small pause.)
Bára: Well… maybe they have a new album.
Tereza: Yes! “Love Me Do… Buzz Buzz!”
(All laugh.)
Nicol: The meadow concert starts now!
(They dance badly like a rock band.)
All together: Yeah yeah yeah!

BOLEK: What does this little upstart think?

Ferdy: Hello, everyone! It’s a beautiful day. Have you seen any food today?
Maria: No, I haven’t seen anything yet. But I have already had a big breakfast.
Caroline: Really? I haven’t eaten anything! I have been hungry all day.
Anička: We have walked a lot, but we haven’t found food.
Ferdy: Anička! We haven’t come here to sleep!
Maria: Wait! I have just seen something!
Caroline: What is it? Have you found food?
Maria: Yes! I have found a picnic!
Anička: A picnic? People have left food here!
Caroline: This is the best day ever. I have never seen so much food!
Ferdy: Great! Let’s work together. We have carried food before, so we can do it again.
Caroline: I have already taken the cake!
Maria: You have taken the biggest piece again!
Caroline: Of course. I have always loved cake.
Anička: I have tried to carry the cheese… but I have dropped it three times.
Maria: That’s because you have never worked hard!
Anička: That’s not true! I have worked… once.
Maria: Be careful! I have just heard something.
Ferdy: What have you heard?
Maria: I think a bird has seen us!
Caroline: Oh no! I have lost my cake before, I don’t want to lose it again!
Ferdy: Everyone, listen! Have you ever hidden under a leaf?
Anička: Yes, I have done that many times.
Ferdy: Good! Do it again!
(They hide under a leaf.)
Maria: That was close! The bird has flown away.
Anička: We have been very lucky.
Caroline: Wait… where is my cake?
Anička: I think… I have sat on it.
Caroline: WHAT?! You have destroyed my cake!
Anička: Well… I have made a cake sandwich.
Ferdy: Oh no… but this is funny.
Maria: Yes, we have worked hard and we have also laughed a lot.
Anička: And we have learned something today.
Caroline: Yes… never trust Anička with cake!
Ferdy: Good job, team! We have found food and we have had an adventure.
Anička: And I have had a nap!
All: Let’s go home!
